We will tell you stories about the Taxi Mom community: our young passengers, their parents, our drivers, schools, and franchisees. And we will share interesting news that impacts all of us.
What Makes Taxi Mom Unique?
We are a private transportation service for children ages 3 – 18. We are local, family owned and operated. I am often asked if we are like Uber or Lyft, and the answer is definitely no! Our vans are company owned, maintained, and insured. Our drivers go through an extensive background check; they are hand-selected and trained so that parents can know that their children are in good hands, and ensure we provide safe, quality service to our young riders. Your child will be riding with the same driver every day. Our mobile app was designed specifically for our company with our parents in mind, and it allows you to stay in touch with us at all times.
Uber and Lyft are publicly available offerings. Both companies provide a valuable service, but their focus is not on child transportation. As a matter of fact, Uber and Lyft drivers are prohibited from providing rides to unaccompanied minors! Any child using their service must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. Uber and Lyft drivers do go through a background check, but they are contractors, and use their own vehicles. Plus, there is no guarantee you will get the same driver every time you call.
