Frequently Asked Questions

Experience working with children, families, schools, or transportation is helpful, but the most important qualities are safety awareness, reliability, professionalism, and the ability to follow Taxi Mom standards.
Most routes operate around school schedules, with morning and afternoon shifts. Exact hours vary by route, school release times, and operational need.
No. Taxi Mom provides a company vehicle for assigned routes. Drivers are responsible for operating the vehicle safely, completing required checks, and following all company procedures.
Drivers are trained by Taxi Mom’s Operations Director and Field Operations Director. Training includes safety standards, route expectations, child transportation procedures, dispatch communication, vehicle procedures, technology tools, and ride-alongs before independent route assignment and activation.
Ride-alongs allow new drivers to learn the Taxi Mom experience in the field before taking responsibility for a route independently. They provide practical exposure to route flow, student procedures, communication expectations, and daily safety protocols.
Yes. This is a required part of the role. Drivers use mobile route tools, communication systems, daily updates, and operational technology to support safe, organized transportation.
No. Taxi Mom’s mobile tools, app workflows, and operational systems are proprietary. Access is not provided during the application stage. Drivers receive the appropriate access only after they complete required screening, onboarding, training, and activation.
No. Route information, student-related details, communication workflows, and operational tools are protected information. Access is provided only to authorized, activated team members based on their role.
Applicants must be 25 years of age or older and meet Taxi Mom’s hiring standards, including a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, background screening, motor vehicle report review, reliability, professionalism, comfort working with children, and ability to use mobile technology.
Timing depends on application completeness, background and motor vehicle review, interview availability, required documents, training scheduling, and ride-along completion.
Taxi Mom aims to create consistent route assignments whenever operationally possible. Route assignments may change based on family needs, school schedules, staffing, safety, and business operations.
Taxi Mom reviews your application, driving record, experience, and availability. Qualified candidates move through screening, interview, background and motor vehicle review, training with the Operations Director and Field Operations Director, ride-alongs, and activation. Route assignment happens after training and ride-alongs are complete.
